Job Description
Summary
The intern will receive hands-on instruction in techniques including genotyping, Western blotting, immunofluorscent staining and imaging, image quantification, and rodent husbandry and behavior.
Job Purpose
Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.
Job Duties
- Performs mouse husbandry and genotyping of transgenic lines.
- Assists with and performs molecular and behavioral (mouse) neuroscience studies.
- Evaluates and analyzes data.
- Performs complex procedures and follow established protocols required for specific research projects.
- Documents results of experiments and reports to principal investigators.
- Tracks the inventory for reagents and ensure necessary supplies are stocked.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:Must be enrolled in high school or be a high school graduate (or equivalent secondary education) or enrolled in an institution of higher education.
